Mindfulness Part 2

It’s amazing how quickly we disconnect from ourselves in happy times as well as in times when we really need to be there for ourselves. Be there for myself. What an interesting concept I mean, I’m here like sitting here, doesn’t that mean I’m present?

Well, yes and no. We can be be sitting even in front of someone talking and still not fully be present. It seems to elude us so much.
I went to an intimacy workshop this weekend and there were lovely things to be had like massages and fruit being fed to me. Why would I want to be anywhere else, but my mind kept wanting to check out or worry about my studio. I was able to bring myself back, but jeez, how much of our life do we miss out on because of this?

Many spiritual gurus will repeat also that, suffering does not exist in the present. So how can we get there? How can we become present and grounded and connected? word:practice.

Well maybe two words: conjsistent practice. In the Yoga Sutras Patanjali in sutra 1.14 says: sa tu dīrgha kāla nairantarya satkārā ’ ‘sevito dṛḍhabhūmiḥ

This practice becomes well-grounded when continued with reverent devotion and without interruption over a long period of time.
Today I’m going to share some tools with you. It’s up to you to keep those tools sharp

There are different techniques and yoga that we used for this. One is the breath, another is the focus point or that I days, and the other is the bandhas

Activating the energetic locks in the body to keep us coming back into ourselves.

Also use the eight limbs of yoga.
Yama, niyama, asana,
pranayama, pratchyahara,
dharana, dhyana, samadhi
MC Yogi song 8 limbs of Ashtanga
How to live mindfully.
Yogas Chittas Vritti Nirodaha
Yoga sutra number two
I actually have this sutra painted above the door of my yoga studio.

Bringing stillness to the mind.
Mantras

I stay with myself no matter what. I matter.
I stay consciously connected to my breath and I keep drawing my attention back to it constantly.

I surrender to the present. I know in the presence when I sink into it, I release my identity with my future, and past self. It disappears, it ceases to exist. In the present everything is blissful. Everything is as it is and that’s OK.
I never checked myself. I am perfect in this moment just as I am. There is nothing that needs to change in this moment.

When I feel the urge to disconnect, or I notice I’m in the process of disconnecting, I bring it back to my bra. My bra bridges the gap between my body and my mind. If I ever slip out of consciousness and into unconsciousness, I know my breath will be there as a natural GPS to guide me back to myself.
***Addiction and chronic bad habit’s are a symptom of constant or chronic disconnection.

When I plug it back into myself, and I release the judgments, and opinions, everything is OK. I feel supported and never alone. I make a commitment to stay connected to myself, no matter what. I am all I have all the time, it is useless to reject myself because that would leave me feeling terrible. I’m a stay with myself, and when I choose to do that ironically it makes everything better. What I have tried so hard to escape, turns out to be The answer to finding my sanity again and making myself feel better.

Once I start to bring awareness back to my body and drop into my body I start to notice for me that perhaps I have been clenching my left hand very tight, I noticed that my shoulders have been shrugged up, which all of these actions hold the flow of energy. When I can allow the flow of energy and life flows itself. I allow fresh and her

Release identity of yourself in the future. That will pull you back from reaching forward to reaching or just having contentment right now. Release what binds you from the past. Alisa I passed. And then release your identity in the present. Release any identifiers that you want to Cling on to. And just find yourself in the present space with more space

There are different techniques that work for different people, but this is what works for me. Sometimes I will have to do it multiple times in a row until it seems the racing horses that are my thoughts settle in the pasture for grazing.
Repeat:
Release identity of myself from the future
Release identity of myself in the last
Release identifiers of myself in the present
When we release our concept of what gives us limits and objectifies us, we create freedom and space. In that space is where joy resides, where love resides, and where connection is possible. Try practicing it. Let me know what you think and if you want more guidance on mindfulness and connection, listen to my latest radio show (soon to be a regular podcast in March!) by click here.
